Berwyn Tavern in Berwyn

Stopped at Berwyn Tavern for my first time during an exciting Sunday. It was the NFC and AFC Sunday games.The bar is not very huge but the bartenders told me they have a deck which is open when the during warm weather period. The atmosphere was great and super friendly. The bar was pretty crowded but the service was excellent. The staff is great and always ready to talk with customers.They have a good selection of local/craft beers on tap or bottles. The menu with the sandwiches looked delicious but I got the smoked streak special sandwich (recommended from the bartender) because they have their own smoker. It was DELICIOUS. I tried also some bites from other sandwiches from my friends and I have to say the know what they're doing here about food! I think it's a good place to either hang out alone, with your boy/girlfriend or with a nice friends crew. I will definitely go back soon!

Great burgers, best onion soup on the Main Line, fantastic service, reasonably priced...what more do you want from a tavern? Good, friendly customers and nice people waiting on you? Check and check.

Great place to just kick back and relax. The bartenders and staff are the best in the area serving some fine draft beers and excellent pub food. Add some local live music from musicians like Jim Delecce and you have one of the best low key places on the Mainline.

Very welcoming. Excellent food comes out of the kitchen. Generous pour.

Old bar atmosphere with lots of choices. Nice outside covered deck with pool table and nighttime projected sporting events on large screen. Good food and beer selection. Great bar tenders

Fun place, parking was tight and to park a few blocks away and walk, tried the French onion soup and it was really good, will go back to try more food.

Neighborhood bar, lots of TVs for the game. Basic and upscale beer and food. What's not to like?

Main lines version of a dive, which is still pretty good. Affordable, but looks like everyone knows everyone else. Quick service, good selection, decent food. Would recommend

Amazing service! Food always comes out quickly and drinks are made well. The bartender even ran out to give me my glasses when I left them at the bar. Best place in berwyn/devon to get drinks

BT is the only bar open til 2 am in Berwyn-Paoli and it has a nice pool table, patio set-up. Drinks are cheap and the food is fine but the bar manager Brandon seems to have a bald short man complex. Granted I am probably a 1 star bar patron but I think this guy is over the top in some of his actions. I will pass on going to this place again as I am apparently banned for life.

How can I give less than a 5. This was an old college favorite (sadly 25 years ago). The "BT" has proved its look and it's food over the years. It still has the "Dive Bar" ambiance but with a slightly more upscale core. Good for family and friends now. I bring the kids and they love it. Good burgers a d wings, but usually have some creative options too.

Casual and friendly place. A pub you can relax and hangout with your friends. Very friendly staff and quick service. The food was good.

What makes a great cheesesteak? People like Phil trying to make a good cheesesteak. We got the flank steak cheesesteak. I hear flank steak and I think of a tough piece of meat. Luckily, Phil tries to make a good Cheesesteak and he marinated the flank steak perfectly. The roll held up very well. The fried onions and mushrooms were marinated and heated up magnificently. The cheese was melted in very nicely. This Cheesesteak was very well made. Thank you Phil. Very good experience at the Berwyn Tavern. In the full video you can see his frontperson Sondra.

It's a great hole in the wall bar. The few the prowled.

A bit pricey compared to other options nearby when you take quality into consideration. No drink prices available as a list. Staff was nice but checked on us a bit too often

Great food wonderful service

A lot of folks call this a dive bar but I'd call it a neighborhood bar. It's not quite at dive level.Parking issues are overstated. Yes there are only 5-6 spots but there is plenty of street parking just be careful crossing the road.Good beer selection and the staff were friendly. Half full on a Thursday night. Lots of TVs if that's your thing. My burger was cooked perfectly and delicious. Only complaint for me was that there was a massive draft that brought cigarette smoke in from the smokers outside.

Perfect neighborhood tavern. Friendly service, local brews, mixed crowd, good vibe. The Prime Rib Cheesesteak was bangin. Apparently they smoke meats on site, so consider the pulled pork sando. Note: parking out front is tough, but walking a block will do you good.

We got to have our own little steeler party on there 2nd floor. The food was great also.

On the (very) short list of my favorite bars in America... and I seek out places like this about 200 times a year while traveling for work. Fantastic food, awesome staff, and solid beer/drink selection. Love this place. Thank me later - make it a point to go to the Berwyn Tavern.

Awesome spot. My fiancé comes here frequently and his family has been coming here for years. First time there and it exceeded my expectations. Their staff was so friendly and fun to talk to. Food was unbelievable they had a good beer selection at a great price. You must try their smoked meat that they do out back. Definitely recommend this place.

A classic hometown tavern with way more space than first appearances would indicate. Event space on the second floor and a large patio with projector. Decent but not surprising beer selection favoring standards and IPAs. Traditional+ food menu with limited veg options.

I don't know where to begin with my praise for this tavern. Great food, especially on weekends, when the smoking pit is active. Great beer selection, including some great cheap options. Great atmosphere, at least if you like -- as I do -- a place at once comfortable, casual and, well, a bit of a dive. Good for families and date nights, especially on bingo or trivia night, and also just for heading out to watch a game.
